# Question 10 - Problems - Chapter 2¶

## Problem:¶

In the open ocean, dolphins sometimes travel 110 km per day, and in short bursts, the can attain speeds of 32 km/h.

## Question:¶

a) Express the average speed in m/s?

b) Express the burst speed in m/s?

## Solution:¶

Time $t = 24$ hours

Distance $s = 110$ km

Average speed $v = \frac{s}{t}$

Burst speed = $v_{burst} = 32$ km/h

In [1]:
Distance = 110 * 1000 # in m
Time = 24 * 3600  # in s
Avg_Speed = Distance / Time
Burst_Speed = 32 / 3.6 # in m/s
print(f'The average speed is {Avg_Speed:.1f} m/s.')
print(f'The burst speed is {Burst_Speed:.1f} m/s.')

The average speed is 1.3 m/s.
The burst speed is 8.9 m/s.

They said: we come willingly. That is the ordinance of the Mighty, the Knower. (12) De hemelen en aarde (waren) een samenhangende massa.
