After some experiments in the early 80's with Black and White television on
the 70 cm band, this was become a left alone mode. After the first experiments, quite a lot
of om's did no longer be QRV and the little space on the 70cm was taken by
repeaters and packet stations so that the activity in ATV was decreed to zero.
But...
After an expose from ON4VVV in the local club, the bug has bitten
again, and the interests in the higher frequencies came back.
A Hamfest, an modified LNB, a 40cm dish, some good coax, an analog
sat tuner, some hardware to mount the dish and some good whether where all
we need.
A terrain study and a bunch of calculations proved that it had to be
possible to make connection with the Ghent relay station, without the
need of an high antenna position.
After only three weeks I was at new QRV in reception on the 10 GHz
band capturing the local ATV Repeater ON0TVO.
